Day 1

Board the Akademik Ioffe at the port of Ushuaia, Argentina, the world's southernmost city. Sail out through the Beagle Channel to the Drake Passage.

Day 2 – 4

Sail across the Drake Passage, one of the roughest, stormiest seas on Earth. Cross the Antarctic Circle, 66'33S.

Day 5

Marguerite Bay and Horseshoe Island. Explore an abandoned British research station.

Day 6

Torgerson Island

Day 7

Lemare Channel, Hidden Bay, Jugla Point

Port Lockroy, a British research station, now a museum. The station, which now includes a gift shop and the smallest post office in the world population-wise, is overseen by two young British women there on a four-month stint, all by themselves.

Day 8

Paradise Harbour

Almirante Brown, an Argentinian research station. Climb a glacier.

Neko Harbour

Day 9

Danco Island

Cuverville Island

Day 10 

Deception Island. Explore a British whaling station, now a heritage site.

Aitcho Island

Day 11 – 12

Sail back across the Drake Passage, through Beagle Channel and back to Ushuaia. Over 2,200 nautical miles covered.
